Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask ($92) – |★★★☆☆| Ninety two dollars, huh? That seems excessive. This is a huuuuge free sample for something with that price tags. Makes sense, as I won’t spend $92 without trying something. The texture is something like melted wax mixed with lotion. The smell is cucumber-y. The feeling is tingly and tight. So, your standard face mask.
Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment SPF15 ($24) – |★★★★☆| – Great chapstick with a hint of color. I don’t love the twist off cap, which is why I docked it a star.
Fresh Sugar Face Polish ($62) – |★★☆☆☆| Yup, 2 stars. I’m surprised, too. I thought Fresh’s face polish was famous or something, but it’s not super exciting. Yes, it smells nice and I’m sure has great ingredients, but the scrubby sugar part melts away too fast to actually polish anything and then you’re just left with an oily cleanser.
Seriously no self control. I’m supposed to be saving money. For a wedding. And a honeymoon. Some very expensive shit is coming up the pipeline. And, what do I do? Spend $43 at Sephora because I got an email about a special.
But look at all the cool stuff I’m getting!
SEPHORA Collection Mud Mask Mattifying AND Purifying (free sample) – They’re running a summer special of 5 free samples with every order, instead of the usual 3.
NARS Blush in Orgasm (free sample) – The most famous product ever and I’ve never tried it. Travesty!
Benefit Cosmetics Goof Proof Brow Pencil Easy Shape and Fill (free sample) – I think I like brow pencils over powder, but the Maybelline one I have now needs constant sharpening so I want to branch out.
Tatcha Balanced Pore Perfecting Water Gel (free sample) – IDK, whatevs, it’s free.
Bumble and Bumble Surf Foam Wash Shampoo (free sample) – Shampoo is expensive. Bumble & Bumble is expensive. I like getting expensive shit for free, although I might hate this.
Cover FX Mattifying Primer with Anti-Acne Treatment (100 points) – I have like 4 primers, but NONE are anti-acne. Obvs I needed this.
Origins Ginzing Energy Boosting Moisturizer (100 points) – This, I actually need. Currently I’ve been using tinted moisturizer and lubriderm on my face. It will be happy to have something meant for it again.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($29) – Something I actually had to buy to get them to ship me all the free shit above. I’ve been eyeing this ever since I bought the green color corrector because it will blend over that nicely. Hopefully, the color is right. If so, skinID really works!
SEPHORA Collection Eye Pencil To Go ($6) – I needed exactly $6 to get me to $35, which gets me the next three products. I also don’t have a purple eyeliner, so…
Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask (free with 3FORVIB) – Free w/VIB membership and $35 purchase. I love Fresh products, so this special is what prompted this entire purchase.
Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment SPF15 (free with 3FORVIB)
Fresh Sugar Face Polish (free with 3FORVIB)
Between this order and my Ipsy and Play! by Sephora, I’m going to have SO MUCH SHIT to review. It makes me fucking giddy inside. Ahhahaha.
|★★★☆☆| nth Degree Smoothing Moroccan Argan Oil ($14) – Okay. I mean, I don’t know what it’s really supposed to do. Currently all it does is make my hair static-y. I assume, over time, my hair should feel healthier, so I give it stars for promises.
|★☆☆☆☆| Star Looks Cream Eyeshadow in Rose Gold ($???) – Pretty color, but goes on cakey and clumpy and does not play well with other products. Also, their website sucks and I couldn’t find anything like this. Here’s what it looked like by lunch time…all splotchy:
|★★★☆☆| Skinn Cosmetics Bright Eyes Enhancing Eyeliner ($18) – This is kinda cool. You apply to your waterline and it makes your eyes look bigger. It’s a very made-up, doll type of look, which isn’t my usual style, but I’m glad I get to try it.
|★★★☆☆| Pur~Lisse Beauty Masks ($8) – The actual mask was good – left my skin feeling renewed and refreshed (which, I believe, is what it says on the package). However, I HATE these sheet masks. They don’t stay on well or fit your face correctly, and you look like you’re wearing a Hannibal Lector mask.
Overall, the bag is cute, but I already threw out the eyeshadow, I’ll the give lipstick a second try, and will only use the eyeliner sparingly.
I promise I will find a good spot in my house to take pictures if its the last thing I do. haha
The March box came LATE…3/24. But it’s as good as the first one.
|★★★★☆| Kat Von D Tattoo Liner ($19) – Very thin paint brush. Easy to apply. Stays on all day. I’m not talented enough to do a true cat eye, but if I was every going to attempt it, it would be with this eyeliner.
|★★★★★| Sephora Airbrush Sponge ($12) – I’ve tried one of these before and hated it because I had no idea you were supposed to wet it first. Now that I’ve used it properly, I love it, even though it looks like a butt plug.
|★★☆☆☆| Maison Martin Margiela ‘Replica’ Beach Walk ($125) – It does smell sort of beachy, but still heavily perfume-y. No go.
|★☆☆☆☆| Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($65) – I’m really not sure what to make of this. What is it? Sunscreen? Primer? BB/CC cream? I’m guessing all of the above, but really it just feels like an extra layer of goop on my face.
|★★★★☆| Smashbox Photofinish Primer Oil ($42) – I’ve reviewed their regular primer here. While I’m not usually a fan of oil products, with the dry skin of winter, this is awesome.
