Sunday Runday 3/5

SUMMARY

  • FEBRUARY RESOLUTION: No alcohol on weeknights X
    • I feel like I didn’t really try on this one.  IDK if my willpower is that poor, the beer in my fridge is that good, or if I never really wanted to do this in the first place.  On the nights I did succeed in not drinking, it was a conscious effort – which means I would have had a drink with dinner if I weren’t trying, so that’s something.
  • MARCH RESOLUTION: 50 Miles
    • 11.5 down, 38.5 to go!
  • Run 3x w/6 mile long run 
    • Total Mileage = 11.5 miles

WORKOUTS

  • Monday 2/27 – PT
  • Tuesday 2/28 – 10 min Yoga Video – This was just stretchy lunges, nothing revolutionary.
  • Wednesday 3/1 – 3 mi @ 11:45 min/mi + PT – I actually went to the gym before work, showered and got ready there.  This was a very strange day for me – getting up and leaving the house unshowered at 5:15am, carrying my clothes, jewelry, towel, makeup, etc.  Frankly, I’m a little out of it.
  • Thursday 3/2 -2.5 mi @ 11:36 min/mi – 2 days in a row at the gym by 6am! …. I need a nap.
  • Sunday 3/5 – 6 mi @11:13 min/mi + PT – This run felt surprisingly good.  I’m having some knee pain below my kneecap, but it doesn’t hurt when running. So, my plan is to do some extra leg lifts and stretching this week.

GOALS

  • MARCH RESOLUTIONS: Run 50 miles in the month
  • Run 3x  with a 7 mile long run

Sunday Runday 2/26

SUMMARY

  • FEBRUARY RESOLUTION: No alcohol on weeknights X
  • Run 3x
    • Total Mileage = 10.5 miles
  • PT 4x

WORKOUTS

  • Monday 2/20 – PT + Yoga – just a quick 5 minutes of yoga, but yoga nonetheless.
  • Tuesday 2/21 – PT + 2.25 mi @ 11:31 min/mi – My 1st run in over a week.  UGH.  It was…ok.
  • Wednesday 2/22 – PT 
  • Thursday 2/23 – 3.3 mi @ 11 min/mi – Also really bad.  Lots of walking.
  • Saturday 2/25 – PT
  • Sunday 2/26 – 5 mi @ 11 min/mi – Holy shit, the this was the windiest run I’ve ever run.  As if my body wasn’t working against me already, the wind blew my headphones out twice.

GOALS

  • FEBRUARY RESOLUTION: No alcohol on weeknights.  Only 2 more nights of this ridiculous resolution.  Then onto running 50 miles in a month.
  • Run 3x  with a 6 mile long run

Sunday Runday 2/19

I was sick all week with another head/sinus cold.  Usually I exercise through it, thinking it will help.  This week I decided to rest and try to get as much sleep as possible.  Used the neti pot twice a day (I know, super gross) and took Sudafed and ran the humidifier.  I don’t think I got better any quicker, so I should have just kept running.

    • I think I really don’t like this resolution.
  • Run 3x – Total 10 miles
    • Marathon training starts in 2 months and I really need to work on that base.

Sunday Runday 2/12

SUMMARY

  • FEBRUARY RESOLUTION: No alcohol on weeknights X
    • Well, I achieved 2 of 4 nights on this one!

    • Total Mileage = 2.9 miles

  • Skiing 

WORKOUTS

  • Tuesday 2/7 – Yoga + PT – This yoga video was a little different from my usual, so I liked the variety.  Though some positions felt dangerous on my knees, like her IT band one.  It wasn’t stretching my IT band at all, but was putting a ton of pressure on my ankles and knees, so I skipped that.
  • Wednesday 2/8 – PT + 2.9 mi @ 12:26 min/mi
  • Friday 2/10 – Random body weight exercises – We were all sitting around the ski house, and my friend and I started planks, push ups, squats, walkouts, etc. since we didn’t go skiing that day.
  • Saturday 2/11 – 4.5 km of cross country skiing

GOALS

  • FEBRUARY RESOLUTION: No alcohol on weeknights
    • Try and try again.
  • Run 2x – I want to run more, but the weather is very much against me right now.
